Jurors on Thursday convicted a Miami cab driver who raped a drunken woman after picking her up outside a South Beach nightclub.
Marcel Casimir, 52, is facing up to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced in the coming weeks.
Prosecutors said Casimir picked up the 24-year-old woman outside club Privé in December 2006, then raped her inside her apartment. She reported the attack the next day — at the time, Casimir told Miami Beach detectives he did not have any sexual contact with the woman.
But a DNA sample taken from the woman later matched Casimir, prosecutors Michael Von Zamft and Robert Guinn told jurors.

During this week’s trial, defense attorneys suggested that the woman consented to the sexual encounter. Casimir, who drove for Central Cab, did not testify at trial.
