Critical Mass, the monthly ride that draws scores of cyclists, will take place Friday evening in the streets of Miami and Miami Beach.

Riders are expected to depart from downtown’s Stephen P. Clark Center at 111 NW First St. beginning at 7:15 p.m.. They will then make their way through East Little Havana, Overtown, Allapattah, Liberty City, Little Haiti, the Upper East Side, North Bay Village, North Beach, Miami Beach, the Venetian Islands and back to downtown.

The ride is not sanctioned by local governments. But Miami Beach police warned drivers Friday afternoon that the 20-mile route will jam traffic for up to three hours. Cyclists are expected to be on the Beach by 7:45 p.m., according to the police department.
