Miami Beach

She thought she was getting pulled over. She did, but it wasn’t what she expected.

It’s not every day that getting pulled over by an officer is a good thing.

But on Thursday one unsuspecting woman got the surprise of a lifetime after seeing flashing red and blue lights in her rearview mirror.

When she pulled over at 11th Street and Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, Sgt. Jeff Motola had a question for her boyfriend, who was in the passenger seat.

“Is there anything that you want to say?” Motola asked.

The man got down on one knee and held out a ring.

“I just want you to marry me,” he said.

Her hands covered her face.

“Oh my God,” she said. “You’re crazy. In this situation I don’t even know what to say.”

Police happily shared the “cute” video on social media.

The pullover happened around 8 p.m. Thursday near the Miami Beach police station, after the man walked in and asked for help in proposing to his girlfriend.

The video shows the man on his knee for several seconds as she tried to calm down.

She finally looked at him and said, “Yes.”

Then came the congratulations from Sgt. Motola and Officer Christina O’Neil, who helped in the set-up.

He then put the ring on her finger..

“Wow, I am even shaking from everything,” she said.
