An order for a foot-long sub at a Miami Beach Subway restaurant turned into a robbery Tuesday morning.
Employee Brenda Maldonado said a man placed an order for a foot-long sandwich combo at the restaurant at 7101 Collins Ave.
Once he got his sub, instead of paying up, the man pulled out a gun and demanded money.
“He buys one foot-long Teriyaki like a regular customer and then when he pays, he takes out a gun and puts it in the front of my partner.” said Subway employee Michael Morales.

The thief took off with the sandwich, chips, a Coke and at least $200 in cash. Maldonado said the robber ran toward the beach behind the shop.
Maldonado, who has been working at the restaurant for four years, said her last day is Friday.
Her impending departure was planned long before the armed robbery, but she said she’s now scared to return to work.
