A large fire ripped through a costume shop in East Little Havana early Sunday.

Miami Fire-Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll said a passerby reported the blaze at the corner of Southwest Eighth Street and 11th Avenue around 8:30 a.m.

No one was hurt in the fire.

“All businesses were closed at the time,” Carroll said.

Forty-five firefighters in 10 trucks spent an hour taming the blaze, which started at Adela’s Costume Shop, 1065 SW Eighth St. Smoke billowed from the building as the fire charred the inside of the shop.

Adjacent businesses, including a cigar shop, suffered smoke damage.

Investigators have not determined the cause of the fire.
