A 73-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning on a Little Havana street, according to Miami Police.
Police, responding to a call for shots being fire, found Omelio Fontaine at about 7 a.m. Sunday at Southwest Fifth Avenue and Third Street with a gunshot wound to his chest.
He was taken to Ryder Trauma Center, where he died.
“We know that someone had to have seen something or heard something,” said Miami Police Spokeswoman Kenia Fallat.

By Sunday afternoon detectives were going door to door passing out fliers in hopes of getting more clues.
“It is critical that people come forward if they have any information,” Fallat said.
