Authorities say two men were arrested outside an iconic Cuban restaurant in Miami after a fight broke out during demonstrations over the newly reopened U.S. Embassy in Cuba.

Miami police say 45-year-old Waldo Mata was at Versailles Friday morning holding a sign in favor of reconciliation between the U.S. and Cuba. Others in the crowd were shouting disparaging comments at Mata when police say 71-year-old Rafael Vidaillet attacked Mata. Officers say Mata refused to go with them when they tried to remove him from the crowd to defuse the fight.

Vidaillet was charged with inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and battery.

Mata was charged with resisting an officer without violence.

It wasn’t immediately clear if either man had an attorney.

A U.S. Embassy opened in Havana Friday, more than 54 years after the severing of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba.
