Relatives told Miami Herald news partner CBS4 that the victim was 23-year-old Brian Guifarro, a construction worker, who lived in Miami most of his life.
They told the station that he was out with some friends at a bar in Little Havana earlier in the night, but they didn’t know what led to Guifarro being shot in the head.
“He’s humble. He’s a great friend. He’s just for other people – he’s willing to do anything for other people,” Wendy Mena, who is married to Guifarro’s cousin, told the station. “It’s not fair what they did to him.”
Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
