No matter how cloudy South Florida was on Friday morning, the energy was high for the 66th annual Key Biscayne 4th of July Parade. Hundreds of people of all ages cheered along both sides of Crandon Boulevard to celebrate the federal holiday.
With dancing teams, kids on fire trucks and other participants, the two-hour parade was full of excitement. Some people tailgated while a handful of others sold lemonade. Upwards of 50 organizations from all over South Florida took part.
At night In Hollywood, loud reggaeton music was played near Fillmore Street and the Broadwalk as people danced and laughed. The rain had stopped, letting hundreds of people on the beach enjoy a 20-minute fireworks show. As the last of the fireworks went off, many people cheered and chanted, “U.S.A., U.S.A.!”
