Rickenbacker Causeway reopened after Miami police shut down one eastbound lane for about two hours Thursday afternoon to investigate a suspicious package.

Officer Michael Vega said the package was a duffel bag, but officers did not find anything dangerous inside while conducting their investigation.

One eastbound lane of the Rickenbacker, which connects mainland Miami with Virginal Key and Key Biscayne, was closed from around 11:30 a.m. until about 2 p.m. as police checked out the situation.
