Boater with injured leg rescued by Coast Guard off Nixon Beach

A man who injured his leg while jumping from a boat near Nixon Beach was rescued by a Coast Guard crew.

The incident happened on Saturday when a crew member of a 53-foot catamaran reported that a 37-year-old passenger was injured near Key Biscayne.

The Coast Guard crew, based in Miami Beach, responded and took the man to Mercy Hospital in Miami.
