Police release sketch of suspect in attempted rape

Miami-Dade Police released a sketch of a victim’s physical description of a man involved in a burglary and attempted sexual battery on a 74-year-old South Dade woman last week.

“We believe there is a possibility this individual has done this before,” Miami-Dade Detective Daniel Ferrin said. “We’re asking the public if they have any information regarding this indivdual, if they’ve been victimized by this person, to please contact the police, call 911.”

The woman was atacked when she answered her door to a stranger last Wednesday around 6 a.m.

“This subject forced his way into the victim’s home and attempted to sexually assault her,” Ferrin said. “Thankfully, the victim, though she’s 74 years of age, fought her way through. This subject then fled the scene.”
