Burglars target Miami-Dade police car, get away with backpack

Miami-Dade police cars seem to be becoming a favored overnight target for local miscreants’ In Crowd.

Around 3 a.m. April 16, two men driving a Chevrolet Aveo vandalized then burglarized a Miami-Dade patrol car sitting near the corner of Southwest 56th Street and 107th Avenue. After breaking a window and walking away, the men returned to take an electronic control device and a backpack with what police called “miscellaneous items.”

Last week, a Miami-Dade officer got out of bed to find her marked police car had been stolen. It later was found submerged.
