Missing 20-year-old man found dead in Kendall canal in watercraft incident: FWC

A 20-year-old man was found dead in a canal in Kendall after an apparent incident with a personal watercraft, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The man, whose identity has not been released but was identified by loved ones as Giancarlo Gonzalez, was reported missing on Friday night, NB6 reports. Before Gonzalez was found, officers had located an unoccupied personal watercraft in the canal, according to the FWC, the state agency that investigates accidents on the waterways.

The body was found in the canal near Southwest 117th Avenue and Bird Road, according to Local 10.

With the help of local law enforcement, FWC officers found Gonzalez dead during the early-morning hours of Saturday, the agency said. The agency is investigating the death.
