Cyclists disarm man who pulled a gun on them near Kendall golf course, police say
An evening ride turned into a violent encounter for cyclists riding near the Miccousukee Golf and Country Club Wednesday. A man walking near the bike path threatened them with a handgun, according to Miami-Dade police.
After he pulled the gun, two cyclists subdued him and took the weapon, said Detective Luis Sierra, a Miami-Dade police spokesman.
Two other cyclists who saw the incident, which took place near 6401 Kendale Lakes Dr., then helped hold the man down until police arrived, Sierra said.
Police identified the man they arrested on a count of battery as 24-year-old Daniel Alejandro Marti.
