‘They are huge’: Watch iguanas take over a small park behind The Falls mall

Cheka Handal-Fombrun was walking by a little local park behind The Falls in South Miami-Dade, and saw a lot of movement.

Iguanas were running around like crazy. They had the run of the place.

“It’s infested with them,” she told the Miami Herald of the small green space behind the Briar Bay Townhomes by the Cutler Drain Canal on Southwest 136th Street and 92nd Avenue. “It’s really bad.”

Fomburn is now afraid to take her dogs to the park where people go to exercise, fish and get a break from quarantine.

“In the video the iguanas look much smaller than what they are,” she said. “They are huge.”

Almost like mini dinosaurs: In her Instagram stories, Fomburn posted the video with the caption, “Jurassic Park, or Miami?”
