A man died Monday after he was found on the side of a Florida City road with at least one gunshot wound, according to police.
At about 3 p.m. Monday, Florida City police received a call reporting that a man had been shot on the side of the road at Northwest Eighth Avenue and 14th Street.
When officers arrived they found a man in his late 20s who had been shot. He was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center where he died.
Because the shooting is being investigated as a homicide, Miami-Dade police is handling the case. Spokesman Daniel Ferrin said as of Monday night detectives did not have a motive for the shooting.
