14-year-old boy killed while trying to cross a street in South Miami-Dade, police say

A 14-year-old boy was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a car in south Miami-Dade County, police said.

Around 6 p.m., the young teen was trying to cross Southwest 112 Avenue when he was struck by a black Audi driving on Southwest 232 Street, the Miami-Dade Police Department said.

The boy subsequently died from his injuries. Southwest 112 Ave is closed as the investigation continues.

The identity of the Audi driver has not been released. Police said the driver stayed on the scene, but it’s unclear whether they’ll face charges.
