Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said it rescued a child and two adults from a house fire in West Perrine. The trio were trauma alerted to a hospital.

An infant and elderly woman were killed in an overnight South Miami-Dade house fire Saturday that trapped them and two others, authorities said.

Around 3:30 a.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue rushed to the home in the 10150 block of West Circle Plaza in West Perrine. Two minors told firefighters when they arrived that more people were trapped inside, Miami-Dade police said.

Firefighters were able to remove two adults, a 22-year-old man and 19-year-old woman, and a 4-month-old from the burning home.

The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center, while the woman and infant were taken to Jackson South Trauma Center, police said. Both adults are in critical condition.

The infant died at the hospital, and a 70-year-old woman was found dead in the home after the fire was put out.

Preliminary information indicated that the fire may have started in a bedroom; however, the investigation was continuing, police said.
