If you hear a loud boom Tuesday morning in Homestead, don’t be alarmed.
The Homestead Air Reserve Base says its 482d Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight will be conducting “explosive training operations” between 8:45 a.m. and noon. It expects to have a maximum of four detonations during that period.
The U.S. Air Force describes Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialists as the Air Force’s bomb squad, who are “trained to detect, disarm and dispose of explosive threats in the most extreme environments.”
As for Tuesday’s training, “There is no cause for alarm,” the Homestead Air Reserve Base posted on Facebook and Twitter.
However, it might mess up your plans to sleep in.
