A driver tried to get her car back on the road. The maneuver ended with a fatal crash

In an attempt to get her car back on the road, a driver ended up in a fatal accident in South Miami-Dade on Wednesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP spokesman Joe Sanchez said the crash happened at about 11 a.m. along Southwest 200th Street near 140th Avenue.

A woman, who has not been identified, was driving east on 200th Street when her car ended up veering off the road. As she attempted to get her car back on the road, she collided with a pickup truck that was headed west, Sanchez said.

The truck hit the passenger side of her vehicle, killing her. The driver of the pickup truck suffered minor injuries.

“She did not have her seat belt on and I’m sure that played a factor in her not being with us now,” Sanchez said.
