An investigator with the state attorney’s office opened fire inside a Perrine CVS after another man walked into the store and pulled out a gun in an attempt to rob it, police said.

The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the CVS, 11503 Quail Roost Drive, in south Miami-Dade. An incident report described the man who fired a weapon as an investigator with the state attorney’s office, police spokeswoman Robin Pinkard said.

Police say the man who was shot left. Shortly after, a man with a gunshot wound showed up at Jackson Memorial South, according to police.

Detectives are trying to determine whether that man is the same man who was shot at CVS.
