Pedestrian killed on U.S.1 in South Miami-Dade

A man was hit by a car and killed early on Sunday when crossing the street in South Miami-Dade.

Samuel Riley, 37, was crossing U.S. 1 at the intersection with Southwest 211 Street around 6:30 a.m. Sunday when he was hit by a 2012 Dodge Charger. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The driver, 28-year-old Ingrid Lopez, was not injured in the accident and has not been charged at this time.
