One bullet + one gun = two high school students arrested
A bullet on a classroom floor led to the arrest of two South Dade Senior High students on Thursday.
Each was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds, according to Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
A school employee found the bullet. Soon after, Miami-Dade Schools police, which had done a random metal detection sweep earlier Thursday, searched the school at 28401 SW 167th Ave. and found an unloaded weapon in a jacket thrown into a trash bin. The jacket, possibly tossed during the earlier sweep, led to the two students.
