Two men arrested in Hialeah, accused of armed robbery, police say

Hialeah police on Thursday arrested two men and charged them with armed robbery after they stopped a man walking down the street, pointed a gun at him and robbed him, police said.

The incident occured around 12:30 a.m. April 12. The victim was walking home around East 10th Avenue and 19th Street in Hialeah when a car with three men pulled up alongside the victim, police said. One of the men got out of the car, brandished a gun and began to search the victim.

A second man got out of the car, pointed a gun at the victim and demanded the first man take his cellphone. He did. They then fled in the car.

Two men were arrested Thursday evening: Alton Napper, 22, was arrested in Northwest Miami-Dade while Juan Sosa, 22, whose right arm was tatooed with a Dominican flag, was arrested on Lenox Avenue in Miami Beach. Police recovered the car.

Police have not made an arrest of the third suspect. Napper and Sosa have both been charged with armed robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon. They were being held without bond Friday night at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
