Hialeah police looking for armed robber
Hialeah police are searching for an armed robber who stole money from a Hialeah gas station Saturday.
The man, wearing sunglasses, a black hoodie, black basketball shorts and red Nike sneakers, entered the Chevron gas station at 900 East 65 Street around 4:45 p.m.with a rifle. He walked behind the counter and demanded that the gas station attendant open the cash register. The man took all the money in the register, which amounted to a few hundred dollars, according to police spokesman Carl Zogby.
The man left the gas station in a silver four-door car with black rims and smoked tail lights. There were no witnesses to the crime, and the attendant was not hurt.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Hialeah police at (305) 687-2525 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
