Residents in two Hialeah neighborhoods are being told to boil their water after samples showed possible contamination caused by recent construction in the area.
The areas affected are: West 84th Street to the north, West 60th Street to the south, West 32nd Avenue to the west, and the Palmetto Expressway to the east. The second area covers West 84th Street to the north, West 21st Street to the south, Palm Avenue to the east and the Palmetto Expressway to the west.
The city's public works department said in a news release Thursday that the notice was “a precaution and in an abundance of caution.’’
Water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth and washing dishes should be brought to a rolling boil for about a minute before use.
