Hialeah police arrested elementary school teacher Beth Ann Nemec on Monday night and charged her with seven counts of child abuse.

Nemec, 47, a teacher at Horeb Christian School, was charged with allegedly abusing three first-grade students ranging in age from 6 to 7.

Nemec is alleged to have disciplined one child by “hitting him on the buttocks because he was sitting on his feet in his chair,” the report shows. Another child received “flicks” on the cheek with a finger “because he talks too much.”

On Monday, police were called to the school, located in the 700 block of W. 68 St. in Hialeah, where parents expressed concerns about Nemec.

“Following the investigation, it was determined enough probable cause existed to arrest Ms. Nemec for child abuse against the three students while in her class,” said Hialeah Police Spokesman Carl Zogby.
