Couple found dead in Hialeah in apparent murder-suicide

A Hialeah man apparently distraught over his impending divorce killed his wife and then himself on Saturday, police said.

Police found Roberto Calixto Gomez, 50, and his wife of 10 years, Marcia Vazquez, 49, at about 9:20 a.m. in an apartment at 416 E. 27th St., said Hialeah Police Sgt. Carl Zogby. Vazquez’s 14-year-old daughter was in the apartment at the time of the shooting, but was not harmed, said Zogby.

“Mr. Gomez was apparently upset over the impending dissolution of their marriage,” Zogby said. He added that Hialeah Police had “no record of any reported incidents or history of domestic violence between the couple.”
