Hialeah police are searching for the gunman who interrupted Clarita’s Cafe dinner rush .

Yurien Diaz is in stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital, police said.

Police arrived at Clarita’s, 1666 W. 31st Pl., to find Diaz on his side in a puddle of blood and with a gunshot on the left of his elbow. Diaz, 33, described the shooter as a heavyset white Hispanic male with a fade haircut, black long-sleeved shirt and black shorts. Another witness told police the suspect was known as “El Sobrino” (The Nephew).

When Hialeah Fire Rescue paramedics arrived and turned Diaz over, they revealed a bullet wound to the chest. Diaz was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson.

Hialeah say the shooting grew out of an argument that boiled over. An aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge awaits the shooter.
