A 12-year-old girl was walking to her bus stop early Wednesday morning in Liberty City, when a man in a black car flashed her money and tried to lure her inside, police said.
Police soon released a sketch of the man in hopes of identifying him.
“We don't want this to happen to anyone else,” said Miami police spokeswoman Frederica Burden.
According to police, the girl was walking eastbound on Northwest 67th Street, towards 7th Avenue at about 7 a.m. when she the car began to follow her. He then showed her money and asked if she wanted it.

Police say he then made a u-turn and headed toward her. Meanwhile, the girl pulled out her cell phone and called 911.
When he saw the phone, he took off, heading west on Northwest 67th Street, police said.
When officers arrived, she was able to describe the man.
“This is victim was very fortunate,” Burden said. “She used her cell phone for what it is intended to be used for — not listening to music, but to call 911 for an emergency situation.”
