Two teenagers were shot in Liberty Square Thursday night, officials said.
Just before 9 p.m., Miami Fire Rescue arrived at Northwest 66th Street and 12th Avenue after a call about someone getting shot, said spokesman Capt. Ignatius Carroll. He said Miami Police were at the scene to hold back crowds of onlookers.
They found two teens nearby, an 18-year-old girl with no pulse and a 17-year-old boy paramedics stabilized, Carroll said. Both were sent to Ryder Trauma Center, with the girl in “extremely critical” condition.
The teens weren’t found directly near each other, but it’s unknown where the shooting actually occurred.

“There’s a lot of questions to be answered here,” Carroll said. “The police department is going to lean on members of the community to help them understand what happened.”
