Bullets fly during smash and grab for gold caught on flea market security video
In a smash and grab executed with violent speed and a burst of smoke and bullets, five heavily armed robbers hit the Gold R Us booth at Flea Market USA in Liberty City.
The crime, captured on video by security cameras, shows five men dressed in similar dark hoodies, happened just after noon on Oct. 23. One of the five held a gun at the staff while his partners sledgehammered their way into the jewlery cases. They collected cash and jewelry while some of the staff threw items at them. One robber returnedm firing his gun into one of teh casese.
The group raced out of the popular flea market, which is located at 3015 NW 79th Street, and into a waiting white Dodge minivan that ferried them toward Northwest 79th Street.
