Santa Claus-themed pub crawl takes place in Wynwood Saturday
Hundreds of red-clothed and white-bearded St. Nick doppelgangers are expected to gather in Wynwood on Saturday to participate in the second annual Santa Crawl Miami.
The pub crawl is the brainchild of local marketing and communications company Vitamin C Communications, which was also responsible for a zombie pub crawl in October and a pop-up dinner event in November.
Last year’s Santa Crawl MIA attracted a crowd of 150 beer enthusiasts dressed up in festive Christmas-themed attire ranging from costumes including reindeer, elves, Mrs. Claus and ugly Christmas sweaters.
“This year’s pub crawl is going to be bigger and better,” said Alexandra Larios, 23, Marketing Director for Vitamin C Communications. “It will have the same level of excitement and appeal of similar Santa crawls taking places in other cities like New York.”
The five Wynwood bars participating in the event are Gramps Bar, The Butcher Shop, R House, Wood Tavern and Shots Miami.
Revelers will follow one of three routes which will lead them through the pub crawl.
“We set it up so that the pub crawl was more organized and that not all participants were at the same bar at the same time,” Larios said.
Participants will be given wristbands and route cards which they will hand to bartenders and receive punch holes every time they are provided with an alcoholic beverage that is part of the package deal they purchased.
General admission tickets cost $44.19 and the VIP package costs $77.95 on the website Eventbrite. Tickets can be purchased in person at a higher rate.
On site registration will begin at 3 p.m. at Gramps Bar (176 NW 24th St.), and the pub crawl will run until 10 p.m.
