Miami police are investigating a fatal shooting Wednesday night that left one man dead.

Around 6:30 p.m., a ShotSpotter call alerted police officers to a shooting in the area of 3300 SW 37th Ave. in Coconut Grove, Miami police said.

Officers found a man with gunshot wounds. Paramedics took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition but he later died from his injuries. A second man suffered minor scratches from the incident but turned down assistance.

The gunfire started after “an argument that led to the suspect shooting the victim,” said Miami police spokesman Officer Mike Vega. No information on the identity of the man killed or the shooter has been released.
