Miami police were investigating a suspicious package near a shopping plaza in Brickell Saturday afternoon.

Around 4:20 p.m., Miami police tweeted officers responded to the area of 444 Brickell Ave. in reference to a suspicious package. A bomb squad was sent to the area and officers advised the public to avoid the area.

Two hours later, police said the are was safe and reopened traffic.
