Intersections at Florida East Coast Railway to close for construction
The railroad intersections at Northwest 10 Street and Northwest 11 Street in downtown Miami will be temporarily closed for construction starting at 12:01 a.m. Friday and part of Florida East Coast Railway’s All Aboard project. The intersections will be re-opened at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.
Crews will be installing a new railroad track panel, as well as, 120 feet of new track parallel to the existing track. The construction is part of the “All Aboard Florida,” an intercity passenger rail project that will connect downtown Miami to Orlando with intermediate stations in Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
In July, the intersections of the Florida East Coast Railway at Northwest First Avenue, Northwest Eighth Street, Northwest 10 Street and Northwest 11 Street will all be closed for similar construction.
