Flatbed with a forklift takes cops on a wild ride
A flatbed hauling a forklift took police on a wild chase Tuesday night on the Dolphin Expressway, tying up traffic and shutting down a busy interchange.
“A little bizarre,” said Doral police Lt. Orlando Sanchez.
During the chaotic chase, the driver took out a light pole, highway message sign and palm tree and banged up a city police car, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4.
The drama started when a man stole the flatbed at Northwest 83rd Avenue at 27th Street and police tried to pull it over, NBC 6 reported. The truck’s driver then went onto State Road 836 before being stopped under an overpass.
"He was a little upset, but he was taken in without any incident," Sanchez told NBC 6.
