Miami-Dade bomb squad clears the Federal Reserve Bank, so the street is open again

MONDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: Five blocks of Northwest 36th Street were closed in Doral until the Miami-Dade police bomb squad cleared the Federal Reserve Bank Miami branch after an alert over possible explosives.

The building is at 9100 NW 36th St. and the shutdown was eastbound and westbound from Northwest 88th to 93rd avenues on 36th Street, which becomes 41st Street along this stretch.

The Fed and West Coast University were evacuated as a precaution.

Doral police public information officer Rey Valdes said a canine officer doing a routine check on an armored truck coming into the Fed alerted human officers to a possible explosive on the truck.
