Solar panels atop a City Furniture store in Doral caught fire Tuesday afternoon — sending up a large smoke cloud seen from the nearby Florida’s Turnpike.

Around 2:50 p.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was called to the blaze at the furniture store, at 1450 NW 117th Place, Fire Alarm Chief Chris Ibarra said.

While the solar panels did catch fire, Ibarra noted that there was no damage to the store with the exception of some water on the roof. No injuries were reported.

The fire was put out in about one to two hours.
