Police chase starts at Publix and ends in a crash near a Winn-Dixie

Pursuit of what police said was a stolen car interrupted westbound Northwest 41st Street traffic in Doral on Tuesday morning.

Doral police said two motorcycle officers saw a stolen car in the parking lot of the Publix at 9755 NW 41st St. When they tried to stop the car, the driver responded by trying to sideswipe one of the motorcycle cops.

The officer dodged the attempt, but it did allow the driver to get out to Northwest 41st Street and take a right turn west. The chase lasted around a minute, just long enough for the car to crash into another car at the Northwest 107th Avenue intersection, near the strip mall anchored by a Winn-Dixie.

Police say there were no injuries in the pursuit. The suspect could be seen on Total Traffic helicopter footage being placed in the back of a Doral police cruiser.

Westbbound 41st Street was closed for the cleanup.
