Argument in a Southwest Miami-Dade apartment building parking lot between 2 drivers ends with 1 dead
Miami-Dade police on Monday were trying to piece together how an argument between two drivers in the parking lot of a Cutler Bay apartment complex ended with one man dead.
According to Miami-Dade police, two drivers were in their cars in a parking lot at Cutler Hammock Apartments, 10364 SW 212 St. Christopher Martin, 38, was in a Dodge Royal Monaco and Josue Galban was in a Toyota Corolla.
Detectives said the men had a verbal argument and it escalated to a shooting. Miami-Dade Det. Jennifer Capote said it was not clear how Galban ended up being shot.
“At this time we don't know how the victim sustained a gunshot wound,” Capote said.
Galban tried to get away, but crashed his car. He was taken to Kendall Regional Trauma Center, where he later died.
Galban’s sister-in-law, Judy Arthur, told Miami Herald news partner CBS4 that her brother-in-law was “such a sweet guy” and had a baby on the way.
“He meant so much to us,” she told the station. “He had so much to live for. His life was gone, just like that.”
Capote said as of Monday no one had been arrested.
“This is something that happened at an apartment complex,” she said. “This could have led to more victims.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
