The Merrick House in Coral Gables will be having another “Sunday on the Porch with George” on Feb. 15 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Merrick House is the boyhood home of the founder of the City Beautiful, George Merrick. Every year, five events are held with a different theme.
This Sunday, a free arts festival will be held on the home’s porch, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
Student artwork will be displayed and artists will be painting on site.

“Spend a colorful, delicious, creative afternoon sampling the arts, culture, wine and cuisine with an accent on Italy’s influence on Coral Gables life then and now,” said the Merrick House Board in a press release.
The home has been restored to its 1925 original appearance. The architecture of the home was created from local materials such as coral rock and Miami-Dade County Pine.
The house is still filled with the family’s furniture, artwork and personal items.
Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason will give welcoming remarks.
The next event will be April 12, which will celebrate earth day and focus on recycling.
There will be a variety of vendors on site giving free samples, and others will have items and food for sale.
Tours of the house will be given for a fee: adults will be charged $5, and children and seniors, $3.
