Coral Gables

He said he was a cop. Then he exposed himself. (He wasn’t a cop)

Coral Gables police are looking for a man they say pretended to be a law enforcement officer and exposed himself to a woman as he robbed her.

Just before 5:15 a.m. Sunday, a woman was walking south in the 4000 block of Aurora Street when a man approached her, pretending to be a law enforcement officer, police said. As he pretended to pat her down, the man flashed his privates to the woman. He also took her belongings and threatened he had a gun.

The woman ran south and escaped while the man left on a longboard skateboard.

The man is estimated to be 25 to 35 years old, between 5-8 to 5-10, 175 to 190 pounds, brown eyes, full beard. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, black crew neck T-shirt, camouflage cargo shorts and black sneakers, with a two-tone backpack.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Coral Gables Police Department at 305-442-1600 or Crimestoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
