Live stream: UM memorial for former president Edward ‘Tad’ Foote II
The memorial service for former University of Miami president Edward “Tad” Foote II, who died Feb. 15 at 78, is being held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Gusman Concert Hall on the UM campus in Coral Gables.
Foote, who served the university from 1981 to 2001, was UM’s fourth president and the longest-serving president at a private university.
Among his achievements: Foote bolstered students’ academic quality and created three new colleges — the School of Architecture, School of Communication and the Graduate School of International Studies.
Among those speaking today at the service: UM President Julio Frenk, former Ambassador Chuck Cobb (a UM Trustee) and family members.
