Lunchtime jazz series returns Wednesdays in Coral Gables
Wednesday afternoons in the Gables are about to get a little jazzier.
The Jazz in the Gables concert series returns Jan. 13 with a performance from the Brian Lynch Afro-Caribbean Jazz Artist Ensemble. The shows take place 12:15 p.m. every Wednesday in the plaza of the Coral Gables Museum, on Salzedo Street between Giralda and Aragon avenues, and runs through March 30.
It’s the sixth year that the city has hosted the concert series and it is free and open to the public and lunch is available for sale.
The museum’s acting director, Caroline Parker, said she’s happy to have the series as it continues to make the museum a destination beyond its various exhibits.
“It underscores that concept of the Coral Gables museum not just being a museum filled with artifacts and a static place but rather a vibrant cultural destination where things are always happening,” Parker said.
The series is scheduled to include performances from: the Jason Hainsworth Quartet, the Unorthodox Duo, the Errol Rackipov Quintet, the Peter and Will Anderson Trio, the Hal Roland Trio, the Lippincott/Poltarack Quartet, Mike Cady, Davis and Dow, the MJC Voices, the New World School of the Arts Jazz Quintet and the series will close with the Alfredo Chacon Project.
