Coral Gables police searching for armed robber

Coral Gables police are searching for an armed robber who pulled out a handgun and demanded money Sunday at a convenience store.

The man, wearing a black ski cap, aviator sunglasses, jeans and a purple hoodie, entered the 7-Eleven at 3960 SW Eighth St. at around 2 p.m.

There were three people in the convenience store at the time of the robbery — two store employees and a customer. The robber told the customer to remove his watch and other jewelry but left the store without the items.

The robber left the store with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen walking toward Salzedo Street, according to police.
