Police: Cutler Bay man arrested for grabbing UM student’s butt
A man was arrested and charged with battery after detectives say he grabbed a woman's buttocks as she walked through a University of Miami parking lot earlier this month.
Coral Gables police said Monday that Richard Salvatore Sciandra, 49, was arrested Nov. 26 after he was located in Cutler Bay.
On Nov. 15, the woman was walking at about 8:30 p.m. in a parking lot at 1245 Dauer Dr. in Coral Gables when someone grabbed her. The student turned, screamed, struck him with her purse and ran away. A description and surveillance picture of the man was then circulated.
A tip led police to Sciandra, police said.
