Menorah lightings in Kendall and Coral Gables

There will be two menorah lighting events this week in Kendall and Coral Gables in celebration of Hanukkah.

In Kendall, the Dadeland Mall and Chabad of West Kendall and The Falls will celebrate the Festival of Lights at a public menorah lighting ceremony from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Dadeland Mall (in the new wing of the mall in front of Express).

Following the kindling, the program will feature Hanukkah food, children’s activities and live Hanukkah music.

On Sunday, Coral Gables’ Festival of Lights Hanukkah celebration will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Ponce Circle Park, 2800 Ponce de Leon Blvd. The free event will offer food, rides, crafts and live entertainment.

The menorah lighting ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. with refreshments and musical entertainment to follow. Spencer Aronfeld of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers will serve as the master of ceremonies and Rabbi Avrohom Stolik of Chabad Coral Gables will officiate. Coral Gables Mayor Jim Cason, alongside city commissioners, will be there.
