Skateboarder killed in Coral Gables crash

A 24-year-old skateboarder was killed over the weekend when he was hit by a truck in Coral Gables, according to police.

The accident happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday as Kevin Sigurani headed east in the 600 block of Bird Road.

Police said a truck, heading in the same direction, hit Sigurani. Sigurani was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the truck remained at the scene of the crash. Detectives are still investigating the cause of the crash, police said.
